Atticus: traipsing through the city lane ways on our way to check out the Christmas windows at Myer. Below is your new silly face that you now prefer to make whenever I ask you to pose for me.

Atticus: We don't receive "junk mail". So this week, when a toy shop catalogue was actually ADDRESSED TO US, Atti could not believe his luck. He has been reading his "newspaper" morning. noon and night and follows me around the house asking "Mama, what would you like me to buy you? Do you want this? " "No Atti, I was the board games", "But Mama, I think we don't need that. We need the racing cars track!"

Atticus: Cherry lips on the beach.

The weather has been crazy in Melbourne lately. 31 degrees and humid one day, and 17 and rain the next. And as soon as the sun comes out, we jump in the car and head to the beach or skate park, never sure how long it's going to last.

Atticus; A quiet moment with a new pet bug after a crazy weekend in Blairgowrie running from house to house with the neighbours' kids. It felt like every time I looked away, you had taken the opportunity to escape and run next door to see your new friends. And before I knew it, you were either already busy playing in their backyard, or our house was suddenly swarmed by boisterous boys. The independence and strong will of a 3 year old is really something!

Atticus and Harry: love at last! I think Harry has finally figured out that the only person with the energy to endlessly throw the ball to him in this household is Atti...so he has let his guard down and actually has started to allow Atti to get closer, and closer and closer. And all Atti wants to do all day long is cuddle and kiss him. The sweetest thing. Ever!
And yay for finally being caught up! Phew!

Joinng Jodi et al again this week.

"A portrait of Atticus, once a week, every week, in 2014."

We've had our share of meltdowns lately. I don't know if there is an emotional shift happening as we approach the 3 year mark, but sometimes it feels like all we do all day long is negotiate and re-negotiate and make deals and then decide we never wanted to do said thing in the first place!

Also, below is how Atti presents me with a flower. First he picks it, then he individually rips off every single petal and then presents me with the very best part of the flower - the middle bit - his face beaming with pride and joy. Funny boy.

Atticus: We've been hanging out at the skate park a fair bit lately. It's been a rather blissful family activity. The mornings are cold but the sun is shining so we grab a coffee from a nearby cafe and stroll over to the skate park. You spend hours riding around and carefully observing all the bigger kids do their tricks. Staying on the side of caution and not trying anything yourself until you are convinced you can do it. Still, feels great to mix with the big kids hey? I think it's time mama and dada got a big scooter or a skateboard and give it a go too! Looks like so much fun!
