our first mother's day

i've been meaning to upload these photos for a while and finally found an opportunity.(i always plan to upload photos but time just seems to get away). on the second sunday of may, we celbrated our first mothers' day with a leisurely breakfast with grandma n, and a chilly autumn lunch with grandma m and great grandma z!

Atti got into the role of being the superstar centre of attention very quickly and enjoyed monkeying around all day long! what a little flirt!

26 weeks...under the weather in a cozy vest

you would never know from looking at these pictures but Atticus has been a bit under the weather for the last couple of days. he's been coughing through the night and is extremely snotty but doesn't seem to be terribly upset by it all. it's heartbreaking listening to him cough through the night so i thought it was time to pull out this little vest i knitted for him while i was pregnant to keep his little chest extra warm. needless to say he loved taking it for a test spin on the wooden floor.

Those who know me will know that I have a slight obsession with The Purl Bee. Their crafty creations are always inspiring and the patterns are so easy to follow. This is a little pram blanket I knitted up following this pattern and it has turned out to be just the perfect size to keep Atticus' little legs warm in his pram. I love the retro feel to it and we get complements everywhere we go.

I have always been a knitter but up till now my knitting has always manifested itself into scarves...long scarves, short scarves, fat chunky scarves and skinny slinky scarves. When I found out I was pregnant, I straight away knew I wanted to knit my little bubba a blanket. Something made with love, that would stay with him as a keepsake. However, once I started I couldn't stop! I discovered a wonderful world of knitting tutorials on youtube and great baby patterns on the internet. Plus, the sheer tiny size of everything meant that projects were quick to get finished and I was constantly surprising myself with my new found abilities!

These photos are the beginning of items he has started to wear. (there are plenty more waiting for him to grow into them...stay tuned!)
