Atticus: first day at Russian School (play group). It was a bit of a time warp for me, walking you to the same school I spent Sundays in, only yesterday, it seems. I tried to count the years it's been since I was last here in the car and stopped once I got to double digits. I hope you will be able to create some wonderful memories and friendship here, little man, just as I did all those years ago.

Atticus: dipping his little toes in the cool stream that runs around the magical children's garden. He spent the morning sending boats of leaves down the stream after observing the older boys doing the same. 

I'm loving the ritual that this 52 project has turned into. A few favourites from last week that made me smile: sibling love, this expression, and this cutie!

We've just experienced our worst heatwave in over 100 years (according to the newspapers) and every one of those sweltering  nights we managed to escape  to the beach for some water, sand and cool sea breezes. I had many lovely toddler splashing shots with the beautiful sun setting behind but this image kept drawing me back this week. 

You had just been splashing in the rockpools, little man, and you got water all over your face. I went to help you wipe it off with my hand and you said "No, mama, give me your dress!" and proceeded to wipe your face with it. You certainly love to boss me around! ... Oh and notice that texta mark on your arm? Well, in a state of heat induced boredom, you decided to colour in your whole tummy and belly button with it too, and I totally let you do it.

Atticus: cheeky boy. I think changing the sheets is one of your "favourite" chores. It always seems to take hours whenever you're helping me.
